The Developmental Preschool Program is built around a play curriculum, focusing on the child as an active participant in the learning process. Teachers facilitate this process by designing a safe, developmentally appropriate classroom environment where children can develop as unique individuals. Children are encouraged to develop skills in separation, control, conflict resolution and independence at their own pace. Parents are supported to be active partners in the developmental and learning process at Arsenal.
The preschool program serves children aged 3 to 5, Monday through Friday for half or full days, September through May. Our two classrooms are staffed with two teachers each with no more than 15 children. Our program is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare, accredited by the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is a Pennsylvania Keystone Star 4 Facility.
